YU Celebrates Record Growth in Graduate School Enrollment

YU's graduate enrollment is expected to surge in fall 2023, increasing by at least 13 percent compared to fall 2022, the highest rate of growth on record. Driven by a huge rise in applications year over year, this massive upward trend has been building, with graduate enrollment rising 88 percent between 2016 and 2023. The university鈥檚 consistent growth at all levels 鈥 in both quantity and quality 鈥 is in stark contrast to a nationwide drop in college enrollment of 8 percent from 2019 to 2022 鈥 the worst plunge in enrollment ever recorded. Even national graduate school enrollment, which had been a relative bright spot throughout much of the pandemic, showed a reversal, decreasing by 1.2 percent, in 2022, as supply outpaced demand. These upswings in enrollment are not arbitrary. A YU education has become increasingly competitive and in-demand, offering a wider range of cutting-edge graduate school programs that meet the needs of the ever-changing job market.  Graduate Schools Train the Leaders of Tomorrow In its many outstanding graduate programs, YU has responded to the needs of today鈥檚 world, offering 25 new cutting-edge programs and master鈥檚 degrees ranging from Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology Management & Entrepreneurship, Cybersecurity and more. With enrollment increasing over 30 percent in the past two years and more than 300 percent since 2017, Wurzweiler School of Social Work is seeing record growth that shows no signs of slowing down.
