Ruthie Seidemann '25SB

, a senior from Silver Spring, MD, has been named a 2025 MADE (Marketing & Advertising Education) finalist by the . As a double major in marketing and strategy & entrepreneurship, Ruthie’s achievement highlights her dedication, leadership potential and critical thinking skills—qualities that are at the core of the MADE Program’s competitive selection process.

What is the MADE Program?

Launched in 2018, MADE connects top college students to internship opportunities with the ANA Educational Foundation’s network of partner companies, including industry leaders like Sephora, NBCUniversal, Wells Enterprise, Sightly and IPG Health. More than just a placement program, MADE provides participants access to professional development workshops, networking events and mentorship opportunities with industry experts.

The journey to becoming a MADE finalist is rigorous, involving multiple rounds of interviews that not only assess applicants’ technical skills but also their potential to lead and innovate. For Ruthie and the other finalists, the program offers a unique pathway to internships, bypassing traditional HR processes and routing applications directly to hiring managers at MADE’s partner companies.

Ruthie’s Aspirations and Gratitude

While more than 70% of last year's finalists secure internships, being a MADE finalist doesn’t necessarily guarantee a placement at a top-tier company. However, it does significantly enhance chances for career success by opening up doors to valuable opportunities for the future. Ruthie is passionate about working in the tech industry and has a keen interest in digital marketing, event marketing and PR.

“I’m excited about the chance to gain experience in any industry, and I’m especially looking forward to networking with recruiters, industry titans and my fellow finalists,” Ruthie shared.

Ruthie also expressed her gratitude to Dr. Tamar Avnet, chair of the marketing department and Online MBA program director, for introducing her to the MADE Program and to Professor Bipasha Ghosh for  guidance throughout the application process. Ruthie’s commitment to personal and professional growth runs strong, reflected in her active roles with TAMID, Beta Gamma Sigma, the Writing Center, and the Out of Town Committee—experiences that sharpen her skills and deepen her community connections.

Looking Ahead

Ruthie enters this new chapter with excitement and determination, eager to embrace the MADE Program’s opportunities for growth and connection. Her recognition as a 2025 finalist marks her as a rising star in the marketing and advertising world.

Kudos to Ruthie Seidemann on this well-deserved recognition!
