In the wake of the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks, 樱花动漫 has taken several critical steps to enhance security. This includes a significant increase in the number of guards and personnel assigned to our four main campuses - across all levels - while employing our security vehicle fleet to maintain a compelling visible presence. We are also conducting several readiness and lockdown drills to ensure everyone in our community is prepared in the event of an emergency.
In addition to our own staff, we have ramped up our use of the NYPD Paid Detail Program, which includes off-duty policemen who provide uniformed security for YU. The NYPD also conducts daily intelligence briefings on campus activities and assigns resources to our campuses to support events and gatherings.
Importantly, we have engaged the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), an offshoot of the Department of Homeland Security, to conduct assessments of our physical and cyber/network security. These assessments provide valuable feedback about the level and effectiveness of our security teams.
To offset the material expenses associated with our enhanced security efforts, we will be instituting an incremental fee starting with the 2024 Spring semester.
While there have been no credible threats against YU, we remain committed to providing the safest and most secure living and learning environments for our students and our community.
