Avraham Leff completed his Ph.D in Computer Science at Columbia University, where he also did his undergraduate studies. He then joined IBM, spending almost twenty-five years at the T.J. Watson Research Center as a Research Staff Member. He has been issued twenty-five patents, with additional patents pending at the patent office. He has published forty-four journal and conference papers. Avraham's research interests lie in using innovative tools and programming models to improve application development productivity. He has also focused on improving application performance through new algorithms and data middleware. He especially enjoys working at the intersection between research and advanced product development where unexpected problems from diverse areas in computer science must often be addressed.
